Old Military and importation warrants, nos. 1-1389, July 10, 1779-June 18, 1783.

These records contain recorded copies of warrants issued for bounty lands for service in the colonial wars. The first twelve warrants are based on importation rights. All other warrants in the series are based on military claims. Each warrant is a printed form filled in with the name of the recipient and occasionally his county of residence, the quantity of land to which he was entitled, the name of the person for whose service the warrant was issued along with his rank and length of service, and the date on which the warrant was issued. Some bear the signature of the register, and some have a notation regarding the book and page on which the issuing grant was recorded. Volumes 1 and 2, bound together as one, contain copies of the warrant and the certificate on which it was based. Volume 3 contains warrants only.
